I'd love to find an embroider pattern or something I could make into an embroidery pattern for my pillowcase.
I want it to say IT'S A BOY! and maybe something cute like a little duck or sailboat or something.
Does anyone know of a free pattern site that I might be able to either find something like this or to find the pieces that I could build my own design?
thanks
hugs,
Jessie

Hey Jess,
Are you planning to do it in cross stitch or?
With cross stitch you can buy 'tear away' a grid like cloth that you baste onto your fabric, do your cross stitch and then wet the work down & pull the thread strands out from the grid...and you end up w/a cross stitch work on plain old pillowcase cotton.
You then can use any cute graphics from cross stitch books.

You're welcome Jessie. I hope you find what you are looking for. There are literally thousands of patterns there. Just be sure to click on the "all sizes" tab to get the full size image. I use a graphics editor to resize the patterns as needed. I must have saved all of them!

Enjoy.

There are tons and tons of free and vintage embroidery patterns at this Flickr group:

You have to have a free flickr account to access it. Enjoy..
I've gotten more embroidery patters there than I can ever hope to use.

What about using a decorative font on the computer and free clip art? You can print it out in reverse on regular paper and use a transfer pencil to transfer it to the pillowcase.
