I made a big , big mistake while working on one of my quilt squares last night
I am embroidering butterfly quilt blocks for a quilt
only a small quilt like a lap quilt or a little bigger.
well
I happen to take it out of the hoop and the side of the wing I was working on; it was the wrong color
I did it is close satin stitch and you all know how hard it is to take out those stitches.
Well, I almost cried I was so upset
I know it took at lest 2 hours of working
Now , I have to take out those stitches I had so lovingly put in !!
Oh my, the pain of it all !
Tell me I am not the only one to do this ? Lol

Beverly
It didn't look right
It was a lot of embroidery in the same color on the other side of the wing.
It just would make the mistake more noticeable.
I am glad I did catch it before I had sewn it into the quilt Lol
thanks hugs sheila

When I was little my mom taught me to embroidry I was sitting on a couch and was sewing on the arm of the chair when I went to go show mom I realized I had sewn the whole thing to the couch!! I had to cut it all off.

LOL! We ALL have done that. Sometimes at the end of a long night of stitching, you may have to ask yourself "cut out the stitching, or cut the nightgown?"

Oh Sheila!
I know how that feels and it is surely a sad discovery! I am forever having to pull things out for being a shade off or having a color difference. It is so frustrating, but well worth the effort when the project is all done to know you've done your absolute best, even if it meant being friendly with the ripper.
Here's hoping things go in a better direction for you.
By the way, your quilt sounds beautiful!!
big hugs,
Jess
