Posted - Jan 12 2010 : 2:16:32 PM I thought it would be great if we could post photos of different chicken scratch embroidery designs to serve as a pattern inspiration source. I have a pattern for windmill and tulips to share as soon as it comes from eBay but here are some designs off my vintage aprons.

Posted - May 27 2010 : 10:58:38 AM I am working on my first Chicken Scratch embroidery project and I'll post a picture when it's done. I'm making a 1/2 apron out of red gingham. It's my first project for a merit badge.
I chose a very simple design from a book I have. I'll try something more intricate on my next project.
I'm thrilled to see all the possibilities for this stuff!
I would love to find a color of gingham that I could use with my completely dated 1970 kitchen. I have a harvest gold double oven, stove top, and kitchen sink. It's kind of hard to get away from. And I don't like the color AT ALL! So far I haven't seen a gingham that will work with it. If any of you have a secret source for different colors of gingham let me know.![](icons/icon_smile_big.gif)
Yes, I could use brown but the room has dark cabinets and is already way too dark.

Posted - May 23 2010 : 5:22:53 PM How funny, I was just thinking of this today! I was just wondering if I could find a gingham fabric in a color that would work with my kitchen so I could chicken scratch a tablecloth. My kitchen/family room (since it's all one big space) is a soft yellow on the walls and a kind of muted lime green and robin's egg blue. Very springy kind of colors. I can only seem to find primary colors at the local fabric stores. maybe on-line...hhmmmm... Thanks for the pic, though! They just inspire me even more!

Posted - Jan 18 2010 : 12:56:36 PM Well this will sound ridiculous as my husband is a pro photographer but I don't have a camera. LOL I will try to pin him down to taking some photos for me. I have found lots of designs for them on e-bay in the vantage pattern section. Kathy |
