I am giving my studio an overhaul. I usually have my yarn in a big tote, but that means lots of digging for what I am looking for. I got a wild hair...and decided to buy one of these.

I hung it on the door and it its awesome. I doesnt store all my yarn, but I am thinking of getting a second one for the closet door. Its nice to see what colors I have without digging or buying duplicates.

Well you girls should see MINE right now....I still haven't got my fireplace hooked up. It stays chilly in there because we have the 2 woodstoves in the other rooms of the cabin. Mind you this room is a 9 X 9. It is my second bedroom...now half my porch is the second bedroom. lol...you can see what is most important. ha. I bought a 1911 White treadel machine yesterday for 40.00! Cabinet and all! Love those thrift shops! Needs some work but hubbys going to fix what needs fixing. I crammed it into my sewing room for now.I will put this in my sewing booth when finished. So....I have 5 sewing machines and a embroidery machine in there...good grief...what do you do tho if they were in your family??? You don't want to sell those! I need a HUGE sewing room. Not gonna happen in 800 square feet...lol...

If I ever win the lottery, we can all go on a shopping spree to the Container Store. I have been all about organizing my house since sometime ago, someone had a post about decluttering. I am working hard on it and the studio was my last big project....well..no the crawl space will be the BIG project, but the crawl space equals one heck of a yard sale and its just too cold now for that. I dont have a garage or anywhere to store what I bring out, so it must wait.

Nice idea! Thanks... my yarns are all shoved up in my closet on a shelf, this may be an organizing project to put on my list!

It would be great for paper goods. I just bought another one tonight for additional yarn and ribbon bits. The nice part about being able to see your goodies is you dont have to buy replacements when you cant find them!

I also found some beads tonight that I have been looking for, for about 9 months. I thought they were lost! Well, they were, until tonight. I have been trying to get a piece done for someone who has been patiently waiting for me to find these. They are czech glass lace beads that were made in the 1880's. When my vendor came through town, I bought all he had. I have never seen them anywhere else and noone else has ever seen them. I felt bad when I couldnt find them because they cost me a fortune.

I think my late father helped me find them tonight. Thanks Dad!

Great idea Robin
Nothing says the New Year then getting things in order. I seem to be doing that all year long but if I did not keep on top of things I would be buried up to my eyeballs.

I use one of those in my paper room to organize the tags, bookmarks and such that go out with my customers orders and for gift giving.

Hope you have a Happy New Year and muchluck with your revamping
