I have a question, not sewing mind you but I know alot of ya'll are like me and raise chickens. I have for 25 years now and for the first time ever gotten a hen that crows. The other chickens and rooster shunned her and would'nt let her out of the hen house so we put her in the backyard and she goes in the doghouse at night (we put a door on it to keep preditors at bay. We got alot of snow so she darts in the cabin when I open the back door.lol.....Have any of ya'll ever heard of a crowing hen?

Its not all that uncomman to have an animal that has both sexes, it happens in humans also.

Several years ago we had a pair of banty hens and one of them crowed. People would ask if we were sure she was really a hen.... We were sure, as we were getting two cute little eggs a day.

She is a pretty hen. Every night she sits on the back porch up against the cabin so I just go outside, pick her up and put her in the doghouse for the night. We put hay in it for her and she is doing really well. She crows every morning after we open the door to the doghouse. My grandkids just crack up when they are here and say ( silly Lizzie ) lol...

We have a hen named Pete. Every once in a while she'll start crowing for no apparent reason. Our rooster and the rest of the hens don't seem to care one bit!

Take care, Melissa.
