Posted - Jan 03 2010 : 6:07:23 PM Thanks! I worked on the booths for over 2 hours today! I sold 3 chairs and had many blank spots so did some rearranging. Yesterday guess what I bought???? A 1911 white treadel machine in the original cabinet WITH the bill of sale AND the manual!!! It needs some work but my hubby can fix it and it only cost me 40.00 ;) WOOHOO!!!!

Posted - Dec 26 2009 : 8:33:36 PM It is hard sometimes! Since my cabin is so small I am limited on space so that helps some when you have no where to put it. lol.. My sewing room ends up with several tubs full ready for the shop and when I get empty spots I grab on and add them in. I have a pretty good turnover so that helps. We only have 2 antique shops in this town and one of them is hardly ever open. That is why I would LOVE to put one in! Someday....

Posted - Dec 26 2009 : 8:02:44 PM Our booth rental I thought was high, for both my large booth and my small booth it is 120.00 together. My sister had a booth near Oklahoma City and she paid more than that for a small booth a month. I do really well, I make around 500 a month. I did really well when I was selling my canned goods but they made me take them out due to not having the commercial kitchen. It really is fun, I go alot to the thrift stores to find things to sell and also ebay. For instance I bought an old desk, the drawers were painted shut so I got it for 19.00, my husband fixed it and I sold it for 125.00 :) This town has money...I don't...lol....therefore I bargain shop, fix up and sell!

Posted - Dec 26 2009 : 09:57:14 AM Your spot looks wonderful. We have a shop like this near us and I always thought about doing it, but at $50/month, we would have to sell sooo much. I hope you do really well! I know I couldn't walk by without buying at least a bit of fabric. Warm wishes, Tonya - Homemaking, Homesteading Mom of 6 http://plainandjoyfulliving.blogspot.com |

Posted - Dec 26 2009 : 09:45:40 AM I'm going to give this a try this upcoming year. I have sold some old wood things I made years ago and painted to a shop owner, but I havn't taken my sewing items to any place. I love your display. My Mom is good at arranging and so is my daughter, so I will have them set it up once I find a place. I'll let you know how I do. Best Regards to you.
