I think bottle aprons are absolutely adorable (here's a link to a photo and a tutorial if you haven't seen them - http://sewing.about.com/od/aprons/ss/soapapron.htm) but does anyone actually use them? My dishwashing liquid bottle gets kinda soapy around the top and I'd hate for that to get on to the apron itself. I was thinking about making a set for my bottles of cooking oil but I had the same concern; would the oil make a mess on the aprons. Maybe these are just better in theory than in practice?

Well I've never seen them before! I was thinking it was an apron you wore that had pockets to hold your soap, ha....you know these would look adorable on those vintage syrup women bottles!

Same for me. Mine get really messy, but I just toss them in with the laundry like I would clean up a normal apron and they come nice and clean! :) It is a lot nice than having dishsoap dripping all over my countertops and sinks!

I had some years ago and they do get messy...but just rinse them out and put them back on the bottle to dry. Instant clean (from the dish soap)....Had the same one for years. Was with a friend while cleaning out her mother's things and we found a couple. Her MIL was so enamored with them that I let them go to her...very cute. I have a BIG dispenser and don't use them anymore but I remember they were all the range in the early 80s... I made bunchies of them for gifts one year.... Shoot! You can make one for every month in a theme! They were fun!

They are adorable, but am also afraid they would become messy quickly, lol. MAYBE an idea to make them out of those(vintage) plastic table cloths?? That way they are easier to wipe down when messy??
