Any fans of Jenny Hart's embroidery work out there? I just purchased Embroidered Effects and I love it! It's revved up my embroidery engine. I love the way she shows combining stitches.

Thanks Deb - I guess I was thinking of more like a pad that I would be creating designs or something - I should have just revisted her site. Sorry - not enough sleep here...

Joannes has tons of books & magazines on crafting now.

What is the "Craft Pad"? I must say I really have not kept up with what is out there - just too busy trying to run the farm, animals and fiber business but I do like to keep my hand in things...

The nearest JoAnn's is also about 75 miles so I have not been there is about two years - since I have a store on my farm I am always up to my ears in supplies. Sounds like JoAnn's has branched out since I was in there last.

I bought her Craft Pad at Joanne Fabrics with a -40% coupon. They have a great return policy as well.

Grace, the nice thing about Amazon is you can return the book easily if it doesn't have just what you want. I've done that many times with craft books that just didn't have the zing I was looking for. I hope you enjoy the new book!

LOVE Jenny Hart & Sublime Stitching! I have not looked into her new book yet. I have her first book & the craft pad - as well as many "individual" patterns. I've been trying to be good and not buy anything! I did splurge on the glow in the dark embroidery floss though! I can't decide what to stitch yet. My daughters have their ideas!

Thanks Kimberly Ann
Exactly what I needed to know - I have been doing needlework for over 40 years and really do not need that part of a book but rather I was hopeing for new inspiration. Thank you for taking the time to give me a clear picture of the book. Since there is no bookstore around me by 85 miles - then I have only the internet and your right Amazon did not have nice things to say.

Again, thanks

I personally love the new book. I've read Amazon reviews that complained there wasn't enough new material or the project suggestions were vague, but that stuff didn't bother me. I have her first book and between the two, I think embroidered effects has better projects and better transfers. My one complaint with the transfers is that they don't really transfer that well to fabric. I always have to guess where a line is or constantly refer to the picture for parts of the design. I've tried ironing it more but it is hit or miss. Other than that though, I've really enjoyed her work. I just did the fan dancer from the front cover and she turned out adorable. I'm going to be making the mah jong tablecloth, the mexican sugar skulls, the big heart tattoo and the peacocks. As far as new stitches, I didn't buy it for that - I have an encyclopedia of stitches - but she does present them all in really clear fashion and the best part, she combines them for neat combinations of designs.

Jenny Hart was just in the St. Louis area fir a DIY expo and to promote her book. I wanted to go but wasn't feeling well. I've only been embroidering for a little more than a year but I love her designs. Want to get the book, maybe Santa will bring it for me

I love "Sublime Stitching"

So what do you think of the new book. I have who know how many - way too many books and will not be going into town for a couple of weeks - do you think her new book is worth the money?? What was your favorite part or parts of the book?? What was a new technique you learned?? You see I promised myself no more needlework books so I really have to give myself a HUGE reason to purchase it - would love to hear your thoughts.
