That's what I'm thinking now too, Brenda. Plus, I guess the pattern was popular in the depression years, so maybe that is a clue too.

Nope, Sheila. I scored it in a barter. (Thanks, Janice!) Anybody like to hazard a guess as to age? I thought the 1960s because of the color of the blue, but on second thought, maybe not.

Hi Kimberly Ann, It's called Glorified Nine Patch. I've never seen the colors combined quite like your quilt, so it took me a second to identify it. Usually the squares in the pattern are a different color/fabric than the "melon" pieces. When the fabrics are different, you get a more obvious stylized nine patch block in the center of the melon shapes. Gee...I hope this makes sense.:)
