They make great bottoms for creating pin cushions (painted or covered with cloth) & I like to paint and use them to store small nails in my tool shed.

Was reading a book the other day at my mom's and in it was a suggestion of using an empty tuna can, punch holes (with nails) in the bottom and setting them between plants (the illustration was 4 plants) in your garden. Then when you water the garden, you fill the can and the holes let the water out to the plants at a slower rate....plan on trying it next spring.

If you decide to bake in them the best way to get the fishy smell out is to bake the empty cans @400 for 10-15 minutes.

LOL..well see what your brains can come with by using a tuna can...and also..you can cut the bottom lid off..all you have is the round ring..use a pair of pliers and gloves..to make your own cookie cutters...

Tuna cans make great personal sized cakes. First make sure they are rinsed out really good then you can use the them for making things things like brownies or individual pineapple upside down cakes. The pineapple rings just fit in the bottom. They are the perfect size for cooking in a toaster oven or in a little coleman camp stove oven. Or just place a whole bunch on a cookie sheet and bake. They're great for carry-ins. I made these for my husband to take to inventory day and all the guys loved them. The guys all said they were better than cupcakes because there was no paper to mess with and they perfectly man sized.

Very cute!

I use tuna cans as muffin tins to make homemade English muffins. I think we could write a book on 1001 ways to reuse a tuna can!

Ingenious.

I've used tuna cans for bridle hooks, stuff for horses.

Ya can make a chair for a doll..Barbie size? Or a night stand or a coffee table. I like miniature things so doll furniture makes nice docorations for me.

My Mom always took the lid off and used the can to cut out her homemade yeast buns. Oh they were good and the size was perfect for sandwiches....yum!!!

I have made pinkeeps. I have also made recipe card holders. You use plaster of paris and a fork. You hide the plaster with some cool junk and hide the can under fabric or lace. You put the recipe card into the tines of the fork which sticks up.

On the farm we used them to put nails, nuts and bolts into.

I use mine as ashtrays when smoking friends come over. They have to smoke outside and toss the tin in the garbage when they are done. I hate the smell of an ashtray.
I am surprised at how many good ideas there are above this post. But then this is the farmgirls so I shouldn't be.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

I know it's the wrong time of year, but in the garden when the pumpkins, cantalope, melons start to ripen, dh puts a tuna can under each one to keep the melon from touching the ground, so it won't rot!
Otherwise I was going to say a pinkeep too! :)

We use them here for bridle holders, halter holders, hanging extension cords, rolls of rope holders, etc. They can be painted and personalized, or left plain.
