As I look around my living room, with the three very large baskets full of yarn (and more tucked in other corners around the house), I'm beginning to think there is such a thing as too much stash. So much yarn, so little time....maybe we should set up a farmgirl stash buster event - send yarn to those who will use it.

That's funny, Stephanie. I should get a bumper sticker with SABLE on it. :-)

SABLE: Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy

Yep....someone will definitely be the recipient of my fiber stash...when I'm dead! hehe One can never have too much yarn or fiber to spin. Although I did gift 3 big boxes of cotton yarns to Bonne last year....She was on a kick of crocheting skirts.

Each project is kept together in some kind of bag, whether or not its started or not. I buy everything I need for given project, at the same time, all quilt projects are kept in the same drawers, all sewing projects are kept in the same drawer together, etc. I might have a WHOLE bunch of drawers fully packed, but I know where everything is, lol. SO, my answer is NO, there's no such thing as too much!!!

Definitly. When the guilt over having too much sitting around begins to weigh down your conscience instead of giving you joy knowing you'll be having fun using it then it is time to thin the herd. I am not a knitter but have a terrible amount of quilting fabric. This Christmas though, I'm making grocery store bags, Japanese lunch bags (kinchaku) and some aprons. It is giving me such a great relief seeing the stash go down bit by bit. Sad that I have let it get to this point!

I would have to say that there is definitely such a thing as too much stash! It's too much when you can't find something you are looking for and you spend more time trying to keep it organized than actually getting something done!

I know we must be related;
knitting, crocheting and fabric.
Yes, I do believe that we can have to much as my hubby tells me all the time.
I have gotten rid of alot ;but need to do some more de-cluttering. hugs sheila

I do, I am in danger right this moment of being crushed under tons of paint and tape and fabric and yarn and goodness knows what all. :)

Oh I don't believe in a too big stash lol. I love to crochet and knit and am always on the lookout for more yarn (and fabric too for that matter lol)
At the moment I am finishing up a hat I am making for myself, a crochet one. Looking cute! Want to make a few more in different colors and patterns. Gonna need those while delivering mail this winter, bbbrrr

I'll sort through my stuff this weekend and see if I can post a list of skeins up for grabs. Most of it will be acrylic sport weight, by the way.

I know my dd would appreciate being the recipient of some yarn so if you decide to get rid of any please keep me in mind or her. She is on the forum also.

God is good....all the time.
