Thanks for the quick response - I'll be starting a hat tomorrow!

Thanks so much, Auntie M!

We will work on this until the end of December. I'd prefer the finished caps to be mailed to me so that I might photograph them all together and post it here. However, you may send them directly to the organization if you prefer. They have a form on their website.

Here is some info about yarn from their site:

Yarn Suggestions
Please use one of the yarns from the folowing list:

Caron Simply Soft
Lion Cotton Ease
Lion Microspun
Naturally Caron Spa
Moon & Stars Red Heart
TLC Baby Amore
Carefree Cotton Red Heart

We also need sleep caps made from: Moon & Stars by Red Heart

Ideas for Chemo Caps

Thinner, seamless, non-lumpy caps are good for sleeping and increased comfort.
Hats made with thinner yarn would be better for summer weather use.
Cotton Blend Yarns are great for summer hats and warmer climates, as it is cooler than other types of yarn. Seamless Caps are more comfortable and better for sleeping in.

and here is the link to their pattern page, although you may use any pattern you like as long as it will be comfortable to the wearer.

What a wonderful way for you to stay close to your sister's memory! I'm so sorry she isn't with you anymore, but I'm certain their are those out there that would love to have a hat made in her honor.

Theresa, I would love to help out. I've made preemie caps for years, and recently made a few helmet liners for the military. This project, however, speaks to my heart. I lost my only sister to cancer two years ago and made her several hats. This would make me feel close to her.

Feel free to email me with the details - deadline, where to send, etc. This is a very nice thing you are doing.

What a wonderful idea!!!
I only wish I knitted, I would do as many as I could.

Now, if they were stitched caps, like they put on newborns, I would have no problem, lol!

This is a great idea Theresa! :)

Theresa, What a wonderful idea! I would love to join in, but we are getting ready to move and I am too disorganized at this time! I hope you get a lot of ladies joining in!
