Every year I make yo-yo tree garland to hang on a Christmas tree. I sell them in my Etsy shop and they seem to be a hit. They give the tree a cute, country, handmade look! :)

I stitch lace trim yoyos and stitch them in the middle of a fabric yoyo, then sew a button in the middle and a safty pin to the back and they are yoyo buttons. Cute for gifts. Very Vintage looking.

Beautiful aprons Grace.

I had a friend that made garlands for her Christmas tree with yoyos. I have yet to make one but when I do that is one of my plans :)

Years ago I had a vest that I found at the Thrift Store with yoyos on the front. I loved that vest, so much it had to get tossed :)

I love the Christmas tree idea!
I have seen them put on a wreath shape for Christmas. Either on a wire shape or grapevine wreath.... I think they would look good just sewn in a donut shape and backing on it just for firmness (plastic canvas?).
oops! I think I just gave myself a new project to start! LOL

Can somebody design a Thanksgiving turkey with yoyos? Perhaps the feathers?

One year I made a christmas tree out of small and medium green yo-yo's. I just attached them to a styrofoam tree. Made a large one for the tree skirt. And decorated it with small handmade ornaments. So cute for a table centerpiece. I gave several away as gifts. They loved it.

Debra I was thinking the same thing until about 2 weeks ago. I was in Hobby Lobby and came across a book on yo-yo's they had some really neat things to make. Purses, vest, some really darling little girls dresses. I was kind of amazed at all the things you can do with them.

Begin each morning with a song in your heart.

hahaha Grace,,,don't worry, I toooo am amped on coffee this AM....

I use an old CD as my templet to make my standard size yoyos but I do have the flower templet(which I am not crazy about) and I have the heart shaped on (which I do like).

I also make yoyo pin's by stacking 2(lrg & sm) yoyos and adding a ribbon & button on top.

I keep a jar full of yoyos so when I need a yoyo real quick for a project I am working on I don't have to stop and make one. I also have a little tupperware type container with pre-cut fabric circles, needle, thead & scissors stashed so I can take it with me & stitch when I have some down time or the hubby & I are traveleing.

Yep Linda, It was me that mentioned to just ever so slightly add fiber fill to the yoyos to make it a bit pouffy,,,I made 2 lil Christmas yoyo trees last year,,,using 7 yoyos in graduated size, the bottom being the largest & the smallest being the top. lightly stuffed them then I used my glue gun and stacked & glued them & then I decorated the lil tree w/mini deco I bought @ Micheals Crafts store. I attached a satin ribbon & bow at the top & hung the 2 lil trees on my Christmas tree.

Well speaking of YoYo's...
I gotta GoGo...garden needs watering, house needs vacuuming & pickles need pickleing! lol!

The TV Show Nancy's Notions had a three part series on Yo Yo's and the new way to use them. There is even a book that you can order. I might suggest going to the library = there are several new books out that have yo yo's usage in them. I think it is always funny when old things are new again. I have not used the new "Makers" I still you templets, jar lids, cups or what ever is around - get it a round! O.K. too much coffee for Grace this morning...

Good luck

this was put on an apron.

Also, Maryjane puts a button in the middle...she wears them like a pin on her jean jackets. Also can be done with 2 layers of yoyos...one larger than the other. They all look like flowers

I made a big pinkeep out of a big yoyo (about plate size) then stuffed it with rice and fabric. Then sewed a little yoyo on top and bottom to cover the hole. It worked out great. A pic is on the pinkeep topic.
