I've had to step back and let some time pass. I am so disappointed that 2 out of 3 swap boxes are held up somewhere. The sewing swap around has only one more person to go to before it comes back to me. The craft box swap around #2 is only half way through the list. The 1st swap box has only 7 more names and then it comes back to me. This is the only box that is still traveling.

I mailed these boxes back in March and April. I never thought it would take so long to get through the lists. I only had one person ask to be taken off the list so I am wondering what the problem is. I would appreciate input so we can avoid this problem in the future as another farmgirl has offered to start the next round.

Thanks,
LynnMarie

Yes Pam, I had it down that you mailed the box on June 1st. And that is the last I heard about it. Do you remember if you sent it flat rate? It was moving along nicely for awhile. I've emailed the next person on that list to make sure it didn't get lost in the mail and that she has mailed it on to the next farmgal. Haven't heard from her yet though.

Oh my goodness. I didn't know there was even a problem. I know I recieved the second swap box (I think) and was thrilled to find a few treasures and put some more treasures in. I guess I would have to agree that limiting the number of participents would be a little easier for the host. I know I e-mailed you right after I sent my box out to let you know it was again on the move. Perhaps whoever has these missing boxes could at least let you know where they are???!!!

Thanks for the response Kristin. The sewing swap had 13 participants and the second craft swap was only 11. Funny thing is that the first craft swap had the most participants and it is almost done. I do agree that limiting it to ten to twelve would be the best. I am glad that those that received a swap box enjoyed the excitement of discovering a treasure or two in the box.

I am open to more suggestions that I can pass on to another farmgal who would like to start the next round.

Thanks for the suggestions and encouragement.

Lynn Marie, I am so sorry this has taken so long. I got all 3 boxes long ago and tried to get each one back in the mail asap. I loved getting each one. also.

I think next time maybe not have so many people on a list. Probably maybe only 10 would be enough. Have a few going around, but limit the number of people to each box. That is alot of people to expect one box to get all around the country in just a few months. Also, keeping the box going to each person in a row like you did was a good idea. I mean by the states. Not from Calif. then to Ga. then back to Id. You got all that right on track.

I would do this again, but think about the number of participants for the next round. You did a great job of keeping up, too. And keeping most of us on track, too. Thanks for doing this. My grandkids loved all the things that I got.

Thanks for your comments Rhonda. You have the 1st craft box which is moving along nicely with 24 signed up to swap; you are number 17. Would you email me with the three names you have on your list because I think the second sheet of that list is missing and I do not want to leave anyone out of the swap?

The problem I am having is with the sewing swap, last heard about mailed on June 6, and the 2nd craft box swap last heard was mailed on June 1. It is almost September and no one is claiming to have either box. One might be missing but I doubt both are lost in the mail.

I received the craft box last week. (I think it's craft box #1) And there are only 3 people on the list after me...so we're getting close to the end. I'm planning on sending it out today.

I think a lot of what is taking so long is probably that everyone is busy. I didn't plan on having it for over a week, but I've had so much going on and it is hard to make it to the P.O. when I work during the times they are open. (I know I could pay for and print a shipping label and postage online, but I have to get a new Priority Mail Box from the P.O.)

Anyway...that's my reasoning. I think they are fun ideas! Let's not give up...just maybe expect them to take a bit longer than originally hoped.

You are so right Diana; I agree with everything that you said. I started the swaps with good faith; I spent $4.95 sending each of the three boxes out and I am on SSD so I understand the money issue. I did have one gal that said she couldn't afford it so I took her name off the list, not a problem. It is not like one or two gals didn't fulfill their part, it is many. I thought it would be fun, something to brighten the day. What bothers me is that the last person to receive the box(es) didn't even let me or the next person on the list know that they couldn't send it on at this time but would do so at a later date.

As far as not having time to go to the post office, that is where buying postage online helps. The package can then be picked up at your home.

Sorry to be so negative but it bothers me that there are some farmgals that were looking forward to getting these boxes.

So come on gals, fess up. If there is a problem and you can't send the boxes out right now, please email me and we will work it out. There has been 108 hits on this post but only you, Diana, has responded.

Time plays a large problem I have been so busy that I was glad I got the box early. As I would have held them up because I couldn't take the time to get them to the Post office.
Life just has a way of sneeking up on you and the small things like a craft/sewing box gets lost.
I would think that there are some gals that thought they would be able to afford the 4.95 to remail but they have lost a job or their husband has been laid off.
And sadly there are just people that will sign up for stuff and never even give it another thought they recieve and there it stays.

I think that when dealing with other people have an open mind what is a coffee mug or a tea towel or a fun box of goodies if the person who has it keeps it or needs so what. Don't put out there what you can't afford to let go.
But don't give up!!!!
