Good morning everyone,
i made this patchwork blanket yesterday. It's not perfect, but it came out ok. I washed it so it would smell like snuggle fabric softener, lol.

Hi Sheila,
thank you-yes I did it on my machine. The thought crossed my mind to hand sew it, but it probably would of taken forever. It would of been cool if I knew a bunch of girls who would have a quilting bee.

Hi Rosemary, I purposely put that little bird in the middle. It is printed. That fabric was originally on a pillow i Made, and the fabric came from Maggie, a friend I mentioned when I posted my dolls. I'll never forget Maggie giving me that fabric and pointing out the little bird on it. I decided to remove it from the pillow, cut it into squares, and add it to my quilt. It means a lot to me. I think of Maggie whenever I look at that bird. (I'm a little sentimental)Here's a pic of Maggie from Feb 2001. She has since passed. She was a very dear person to me. I use to take care of her. I bought her that Amaryllis in the pic, and she just loved them.

How georgeous is that!! You are so fast! That's my favorite kind of quilt...called a scrappy quilt. I also love the simple designs...so old fashioned and homey looking. Who gets to use it?

Good work Connie. Takes me years to get a quilt finished. Did you put a back and batting on it too?

Connie, my eye went right to the little bird. Is it printed, or a piece of embroidery? True, it's a simple blanket, but it's happy and cozy.

thanks girls :), most of the squares came from Melody. (thanks again Melody) It's a simple blanket, but I dont think i'm ready for one of those triangle shaped patterns, those look too difficult. I cannot wait to use it. I want to make another, lol

I agree with the other Farmgirls, it is beautiful. The nine patch is one of my favorite quilt blocks. I recently found an easy split nine patch block that I want to try.
