Posted - Aug 15 2009 : 10:07:36 AM Cajungrammie (Tina) asked to barter for someone to make her a clothes pin bag. She lives in LA the home of the best Cajun hot sause in the world, so I excepted the barter hoping to gain her hot gold. LOL She wanted blue vintage fabric which I knew I had plenty to chose from. I went digging for a really old ugly bag I knew I could use as a pattern. Look how ugle it really is:
But look at the fun bags I've done so far. Tina's is 30's blue with pretty flowers. I sent her pictures just to make sure she's like it and yeah she does so it's moving to LA. The second one is made in vintage bark cloth. I live in TX and you sweat a lot here, sorry my mistake we "glisten" here a lot so I thought, wouldn't it be nice to have a hankie close by. So a tatted dollie pocket was added and a matching tatted hankie was stuck in. Here they are:
Now I have a picture in my head of one using a really cute vintage table runner with a hole in it. So back to the sewing machine. What fun this is!! Smiles, Melody June

Posted - Aug 16 2009 : 2:00:47 PM Yes Julie, I would love to barter. Just let me know what style or color you would like. I am almost finished with the vintage table runner and will post it here also. I have fabric from about any era you could chose, even feed sacks so just let me know. It only takes a couple hours to make one.

Posted - Aug 15 2009 : 11:25:46 AM I had the poles with old wire broken and rusted beyond repair. My son cut it all off, cleaned up the poles and primed them for me to then paint the sweetest baby blue. He just finished restringing it for me yesterday so now I can't wait to do a load of laundry. Who would ever think I'd say that!!! LOL You should post a picture of yours. I would love to see it. I have vintage strawberry things in my kitchen.
