hello all!
so a friend and i are going to a auction this thursday to see and possibly bid on a rug loom...however we arent really sure what a good price for one is. So if anyone has an idea of what they run, we'd love to hear some numbers!

Sounds like a steal for a floor loom
I have heard them usually starting about $400-$500 if they are in good shape.

oh yes it was a floor loom, it was pretty nice. It was old and had definitely been used.

This rug loom for $110 - it WAS a floor loom, wasn't it?? Not a frame rug loom?

Oh my!$110 is a STEAL for a rug loom! I have seen looms go very cheaply at auction lots of times...people either don't have room for them, or can't tell if all the parts are there. I'm sure if you two keep looking you'll come across more loom bargins! If your friend is looking for a rug loom make sure she gets one with a HEAVY beater bar. Looms with lightweight beaters won't last long weaving rugs. It's just too hard on them. Rug looms are usually the old massive ones you see at sales. They are soooo cool!

well the loom went for $110, and my friend who wanted the loom ended up not getting it, but she did get a beautiful picture and a neat old photo album. All of the things i wanted went to high for my price range.

I wish I knew. I haven't seen one for sale ever, but what a fun project!

XOXO, Libbie
