Okay
how often do you change your needle in your machine??
I was watching Martha Pullen one day
She said after every project;
She said they were Cheap really????
Well not for computer machines.
So
I was wondering for those with computer sewing machines;
how often do you change your needle? hugs sheila

I have a high end computer machine and I change the needle after six hours of sewing, more often if doing a machine embroidery project. It really is necessary to keep the machine in good running order and the cost of a needle is far less than the cost of a machine repair. Needles are not made as strong as they once were and machines are now much more finicky.

The needles I buy for my computer one is around 7 or more depending on the brand name.
I do try to change them often; but not too often
For example in quilting.
I know that I need to change it often then.

Needles get dull so you really should change them after a project. The needles can also get nics in them. If you change them out the stitches will be uniform like pam said. I started sewing when I was a kid back in the fifties and haven't stopped yet just love and relaxing. Oh by the way I just have a regular machine no commputerized. Good luck.

I am pretty sure the rule of thumb is after 8 hours of work. Always remember, the sharper the needle the less wear and tear on your machine. I try to change my needles often and it helps keep the stitching uniform. Hope this helps.
