today, i was looking at a fiber arts magazine and came up with an amazing idea. i am going to make each of my children an art doll using my old clothing. when they were babies, they loved to carry around my worn clothing (for the smell i guess) and now the girls sleep in two of my old nighties just because they are mine. i googled "art dolls" to help flesh out my ideas for construction and got so many good things i just had to share.

Love the fairie godmother at wild art dolls and the dog fairys at waltzing dog. I'm partial to rag dolls too but I think the art doll thing is a great idea. U could make a rag doll w/a quilt for each though. Then you could use all kinds of fabric too.

I like this one!
Of course rag dolls are simple and my favorite type of doll.
