Hi! I posted this on Outpost too, but thought all the stitchers and crafters might have some ideas. Thanks!

Hey, FarmGirls!
Does anyone know where I could get a sleeping bag zipper? The zipper on my friend's bag broke and the bag is still good and they asked me if I could replace it...should I just google sleeping bag zipper or do you know of some great source out there?
Thanks so much! Judy

I have a sleeping bag zipper but it is used and it is pale yellow.

Let me know if you want it.

Hey Judith! If you haven't yet ordered one, Seattle Fabrics, which specializes in outdoor fabric and hardware, has sleeping bag zippers (110") for only $15.00.
They also have zippers by the yard if 110" is long enough :)

Judith, I have gotten nice heavy duty zipper from an upholstery store! I bought it by the foot and I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was not expensive! You might want to see if you have a store in your area.

There are a couple of places that come to mind for you sleeping bag zippers, the first is www.TheGreenPepper.com
and the other is www.stanssewingsupplies.com

I shop at both locations regularly, and recommend them to anyone!

Judy,
Here in Salt Lake we have a store called Kirkhams and they do repairs on tents, jackets etc. If you aren't able to find any zippers online you may want go look for Kirkhams online and see if they would sell you a zipper by mail. I'm sure they repair sleeping bags also so they may have a zipper on hand to sell. I don't blame your friend for wanting their bag repaired. I love sleeping bags and when you find the right one it's hard to part with it. Good Luck,

Oh Judy, how nice of you to tackle such a job. This must be a special friend. It's all I can do to make myself replace broken zippers in winter coats.

I'm not any help, but I do think you will find something if you google it. Don't be surprised at the price. I find coat zippers to be expensive. Well, I suppose everything is these days.

Good luck!

Christine
