I just knitted a prairie shawl, and am so proud of it, so I know how you feel! So far I can only do garter stitch successfully. When I try ribbing, it turns into a bunch of weird lumps. But garter stitch is so versatile, I am content with that for now.

Why to go...I knew you could do it! Hope it is a great past time for you too. Please post a picture of your baby blanket when you get it done.

I started knitting lessons with making a prayer shawl and finished it today and I feel so good about it and now I am trying to make washcloths to learn other stitches.

Isn't knitting great? I love it. One of those easy to take along projects too. I always have some socks going, and a dishcloth in the car and a big project for sure. Hard to resist new yarn too.
