Does anyone know where I can find info on supplies or projects for locker hooking. I found the hook/needle but need a source for canvas, etc.
Thanks,
Michele

I would LOVE to have everyone to my house to learn and become better friends! I started doing this about 3-4 years ago and now people around here are all locker hooked out- not many gals doing it any more. Harder and harder to find the hooks- thank goodness I have two.
Good luck friends- enjoy the project!!

You've inspired me to get crackin and start doing. I have all the stuff, even found more of the mesh at a thrift store. I am going to make rugs for my bedroom which is "lodge look" inspired. I have a pattern that features a black bear in the center. I really love the fact that you can wash these. JoAnn

I love the rugs. I hadn't heard of it before this thread. It looks like a good thing to add to my to do list. Will have to look for some books on it.

this is my bathroom rug that I made- the hardest thing was the size and working around the mesh- caused a blister on my finger- well worth the injury! :o)

Those look fabulous! I saw several pattern booklets at Hobby Lobby on this subject when I was looking for crochet patterns, so just browsed over them~will have to give them a closer look next time I'm there.

LynnMarie- It is so easy- once you start you will just keep going. If I can help in any way please ask. I don't have any advise that I can think of right now- but if something comes to mind I will let you know.
Enjoy the sun today!!

Lori, they are wonderful! I love the dark burgundy/brown one.

I have locker rug hooking on my list of things to learn this year. Any advice?

Jess- thank you for helping me get pictures posted-
The first picture (minus my dog Jack-he wouldn't jump off the loveseat)is the mesh that
I get at JoAnn's- I haven't found it any other craft store. The rest are pictures of projects that are completed. The two smaller ones are hotpads that I made for the spring swap. I had scraps that I sewed together and made those. A great way to use up odds and ends of fabric. There is also a picture of one of the backs- just to get and idea, I also whip stitch around the outer border with a 1-inch strip of fabric to finish off the item so that no mesh is showing. They wash up very nice- I just throw them in the washer and air dry.

A very fun and easy project to do.

There are patterns, we mostly just do scrappy free hand. I have made table runners, hot pads, rugs and placemats. I like to take colors of the season and hook away!!

Lori,
Are there patterns available or do you just free hand it?

Michele-
I love to do this and you can find the canvas at JoAnns and I purchase the cotton string from the hardware store- it's much cheaper and you get more- than buying precut in the bags. This is very fun, my daughter has done some "hooking" for 4-H and earned blue ribbons and on to State Fair- not bad at 7 yrs old! Have fun!!
