I am off to a quilting class in Bowling Green this morning. I am hoping this class will help me with my hand quilting, which needs a lot of help. Plus, it gives me a chance to actually communicate with other people who enjoy this art as much as I do.

I was just wondering, what is your favorite quilt pattern? Mine would be the Bow Tie. I love the Lone Star pattern but I don't think I could ever have the patience to make one.

My favorite is Double Wedding Ring. I've only made one of them though. I also like Feathered Star patterns. I always work on several things at a time. I think I have craft ADD.

It's not about being perfect, but enjoying what you do. Set aside time to be creative.

I love the Lone Star Pattern too. I love so many of the patterns. Right now I am working on a Grandmother's Flower Garden, and a Canning Jar quilt. I'm not sure why I can't just work on one project until it is finished. I have so many things started right now.

Every one i work on is my favorite of the moment. Don't worry about your quilting stitches too much, they are there to hold the quilt together and they don'e have to be 22 stitches to the inch. There are women in my quilting guild who are so wrapped up in perfection ( I call them the quilt nazis) the first thing they do when anyone shows one of their quilts is to scan it for mistakes and then point out what they think of as some great problem. I got really tired of people saying to me "Now is that the way you wanted your quilt to turn out?" but I always smile and say "You bet!"

Have fun, quilting is so soothing...

I love the bowtie pattern - I saw a picture of a really neat one in a book about quilting/homesteaders in Texas.

Dresden Plate is my favorite, Double Irish Chain second. I really enjoy applique so any time I can do that it's a bonus. Lone Star is beautiful but would drive me crazy.
