...with me new sewing machine!!
I have been making that pillow, made a cute skirt for myself yesterday afternoon. Didn't have a pattern so just used an "old" one that I love to wear. It looks good, and THAT has been a while, making my own clothes.

YIPPEE I have a lot of fabric for nice summer skirts as well, and now finally can use it again!!

Going to make the mini aprons soon, and then on to other crafts on the machine!
That machine has left the "beast" out of me, LOL!!
Sewing beast that is :)

Grace! So nice to see you posting. I get tired just reading your blog; you're such a busy lady all the time. Love your devotion to your furry friends, both domestic and wild. A true farm girl in every sense of the word.

2009 must be the year of the sewing machine. I am so excited for you and can not wait to see what you make with that new machine.

I could not believe I found myself on New Years re reading my owners manual from my Elna fancy, schmancy, high tech sewing machine that I have not used in about 9 years. Now I guess is it low tech but with all the computerized buttons, cards and such I think it is High Tech. I still love my basic Singer, Serger and my two hands but I finally decided I was either going to use the silly machine or find it a new home. After being completely lost I figured I would just get out some fabric and start pushing buttons - now I remember why I purchased it - WAY TOO MUCH FUN !!!!

Happy sewing all and as soon as I figure it all out I have some great 60's kitchen fabric (I could not resist purchasing - Merry Christmas to me) that will make the perfect apron.

How nice that you got a new machine, nothing better than to have a sewing machine you can count on. It sounds like you are having lots of fun.

Do you ever see the Singer Featherweights for sale? I would think they'd be a valuable in your country as ours.
Bonne...shhhhhh, Larry doesn't even know I traded in the Viking Rose for the Bernina. Not that he'd really care and he didn't pay for the Bernina, I did with some of my inheritance from mother. He asked last year while doing taxes why I didn't have as much interest income to report and I told him cause I'd spent the money. End of discussion and that's okay too.

I guess AEG might be the Singer in the USA?? Many are made by the same company, esp. the better ones I mean :)

Not familiar with AEG, where is it made? Maybe it's sold under a different name here. Machines get fancier all the time and cost what a new car was in the 70's and a house in the 50's. I've not gone to look at the new Bernina 830, but have heard it's over $10k and the Huskvarna is too. With the software and extra feet and hoops, probably have that much in my Artista 730 though. Scary thought
Enjoy your machine, you deserve a new one with all the sewing and crafting you do. My first machine, a White, in the early 60's got lots of use, making clothes for my daughter and all. I think it helped to keep me somewhat sane, with no neighbors and no drivers license or vehicle to go anywhere.

Ronna yes, those and Singer and AEG.
I got an AEG, had a wonderful deal on it just before Christmas sop gave it myself, lol

I would have LOVED to get one where they have those embroidery stitches on etc. But that is way out of my price range, lol. SO this is a good enough one for me, and I love it. It runs like clock work. My old one was bought some 35 plus years ago by my mom and me together. We did a LOT of sewing on it, so it was time to buy a new one. The tension couldn't get changed anymore, and it was way off. It has been in the repair shop a few times, and now it costs more to repair than to get a new one. Esp. with the deal I got, YAY!!

Didn't know you had a new machine Marion. What brand? Just curious if Bernina, Husqvarna and Pfaff are top brands where you live as they are in the USA.
