I am on an apron kick! Thanks to you gals. I made a craft apron for my niece for Christmas. I had bought an easel at the thrift because I knew she loved playing with the one at our house and she didn't have one yet. This one was like new and dirt cheap. The only thing wrong was the pencil tray for the one side was missing. The are removable. I looked everywhere for silicone cups to screw in to hold her supplies and couldn't find any. So I made a little craft apron that has slots for each big chunky crayon and a pocket for other items. I made it so it can be snapped on the front of the easel. It worked perfectly. The apron was her favorite part. I put it on her and showed her to put a crayon in the slot. She loaded it up and wanted her picture taken. She couldn't stop smiling.
She is my girly outlet. I have a 3 yr old son. She is almost 2. I use all of my girly ideas on her. I am going to get her addicted to aprons. As she grows I will make some bigger ones for her.
My hubby got me 2 apron books for Christmas. "The Apron Book" and "A is for Apron" I am so inspired. I am going to make aprons for mother's day and birthdays this year.

EllynAnne... I would also love a bookplate. I thought you were talking to me at first. I also make my niece an apron for Christmas too along with a pair of matching hotpads and dish towels. Too funny.

Ooooh a book plate I would love one:) This is right up there as one of my all time favorite books. I love the stories of the women and their aprons. I think it deserves a book plate. i never expected to find the author to be a fellow farm girl. Then again with a book like that how can you not be a farmgirl. Congratulations on your book!
My hubby was clueless what to get me for Christmas so I found it on Amazon and headed him in the right direction. He also got me a farmgirl membership...Yippeeee!!!!!!! I am so lucky to have such a sweet hubby:-)))) I can't wait to get my membership # so I can get my badge for the apron. I didn't use a pattern though. I designed it myself. I think I will use my apron badge for a pocket on another apron. I can't wait for my membership badge so I can embellish it and where it with farmgirl pride!

Hey! How neat that one of your gifts is The Apron Book - I'd be delighted to provide you a personalized bookplate. Lucky niece, having you as her aunt!

I am on an "apron" kick too. My daughter bought the "A" is for Apron book also. I just can't put it down long enough to start another apron. I just love it. The book has so many patterns and ideas. Well worth the money she spent on it.
