Posted - Dec 03 2008 : 8:17:09 PM This hat I referenced in another post about the use of patterns..anyway, some of you asked to see a photo, so here it is:
It turned out sooo cute, and the little girl (Olive) who received it gets compliments every where she goes. Her mother actually had her wear it for their Christmas photos :)

Posted - Dec 04 2008 : 10:02:47 AM Thanks, girls! I really do love this hat...our little one will be named Violet, and I thought, gosh, I could do it in a really vibrant plum and my husband said, "NO!!! You have to use the tomato colored yarn!!" And, so I shall :)
It's a very nice hat to work, for sure. And the yarn is lovely--a very nice cotton. |

Posted - Dec 03 2008 : 8:50:51 PM Thanks, Grace! How did you know I was onto something else? My husband would like me to make our little one (due in February) a hat just like this one, so I think I will...but I still have time! So, now I'm felting sweaters for mittens and change purses for Christmas gifts.
I think the next knitting item will be a hat for myself. I've made everyone and their brother (sister, baby, etc!) one, but never me. So, Merry Christmas to me!!! |

Posted - Dec 03 2008 : 8:27:37 PM Thanks so much! It was a great "lesson" hat for me, in that it made me learn the I-Cord...which is something I'd been avoiding for whatever reason. I wanted to make it so badly that I just MADE myself sit down and do it over and over until I finally got it. Now I think the I-Cord is REALLY cool |
