Don't ask me how I came across this one, but here it is:
http://www.savethechildren.org/programs/health/child-survival/survive-to-5/

Save the Children is looking for knitted and crocheted baby caps to send to children in poorer countries around the world. They prefer that you use their patterns, but you can use your own yarn. When you go to the link, they have an action packet you can download with directions, patterns, etc. **Thanks for your participation**

I know what I'm doing with my leftover yarn from our Special Olympics scarves!

Just a reminder ladies - they will take these anytime, but they are hoping to flood the White House with these on Inauguration Day as a show of support for their cause to President Obama. As such, they are requesting that these are postmarked by 12/31. Besides me, is anyone still finishing up?

I'm waiting for Evan to finish (or at least decide he's finished) with the Special Olympics scarf he's promised to help with. Whatever's left will go to more little hats. I've got 2 done, and am hoping to get more done soon (sorry, 2 final exams to finish first) I'll probably mail mine right before Christmas.

Way to go Bev! I finished my first one last night. I pulled out my smallest round knifty knitter, and just stitched til it was about 6". I sewed the top shut and rolled up the bottom a bit. It is only 9 1/2" in circumference. I had big babies, so it seems SO TINY! I'm hoping to get a few more knocked out before going to the PO tomorrow. I also posted this in our church's bulletin for this coming Sunday - I'm hoping to get our Yak-n-Yarners going too. We have a UFO night coming up on the 19th, so I know that between these and the Special Olympics scarves, I'll have plenty to do!
