Does anyone have a pattern/instructions for a Tin Can Rocker, that is also a pincushion?

Oh, no! No goofiness on your part. I meant the whole concept. I guess there is a lot of prep work that goes into it. I got the impression (for the basic ones) that you just fold up the lid and add a cushion. |

he lids are taken off and the rim is pressed with pliers and then sanded, I have even put a thin film of clear silicone on it to keep from cutting myself..
I dont think children play with these unless they are older and then just in their doll houses,,,
But, you mean the edges of the stuff one twists for the back and arms and such.... , goofy me,,,,,,
I guess one must be very careful...I ammaking these for adults....

I don't get it...isn't a tuna can lid too sharp for a child to play with? I cut myself all the time just trying to rinse out my cans for the recycling box. |

I used to make them with my great aunt - but they didn't rock. Just took a tuna can, cut the lid so there it was still attached a little, filled the can with stuffing and covered the whole thing in fabric. Used the "seat" - the can part- for the pincushion and the lid was the back of the chair.

hi nancy jo. i am doing so much better, apparently it helps if you are getting more than 10% blood flow to one side of your brain!!!!!! i had surgery on my carotid artery 3 weeks ago, tomorrow, dec.1st i will have lumpectomys on both breast, then one more surgery on my arteries, and whatever they decide about my breast.....but yes, nancy jo i am starting to feel so much better. keep me in your prayers tomorrow. love

Yes, I googled a LONG time yesterday, lol. LOT's of pictures with those for sale on ebay, but no directions!
They look SO cute, and NO Sheils, I will NOT make you one, lol and sorry;)
I saw a picture of how they were made, YIKES! TOO much work and so little time,:( :)

Hey.
When I was younger they took a tuna can
cut it till the lid resmembels the back of a chair.
Took stuffing and put in the can( after the can is cleaned of course)
Then put material around it.
A lot of those were covered with velet scraps and trims
I don't have a picture though of it; but remember them in magazines I had seen
They were really cute
Most people use them for pinchusions. pinkroses
