i get mine at small local bead and yarn shops, micheals and joannes when the local shops dont have what i need.
marian is it just your area that doesnt have craft stores or is it all of the netherlands? i know about shopping when you are traveling. we just got back from a quick trip to michigan (went for bil's funeral) and had to buy 2 coolers to ship apples back to alaska! 42 pounds of apples ($14), 2 coolers ($15 each) and $30 for checked baggage fee later we have lots of tree ripened apples that we cannot get in alaska! hubby woulndt let me even look in the direction of a craft or yarn shop!

I used to get my craft stash from Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and several local yarn shops, but I'm now a self admitted Stashaholic so I need to abstain! LOL!

I usually check fabric at walmart, but acmoore, michaels,joanns, otherwise. We don't have hobby lobby in PA, wish we did. I have to tell you though, when I was on vacation in NE in Sept I was in the neatest quilt shop, it was in Holdrege called Quilters Delight. My friend helped me pick out the fabrics for my first quilt (the block of the month group here), and the owner was so helpful and friendly. If you live near there check it out! |

AC Moore, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, I used to get things at Walmart till they stopped, Joann's, hancocks. Sometimes the Sew and Vac stores, and also a new little quilting shop in my home town. A friend just introduced me to antoher quilt shop too there! Those are for specialized threads-like my sulky for embroidery, the oh....they don't call it varigated colors, but that's what it means. Blendables, that's what they call them, are only sold at the quilt shops and the sew and vac shops.
I sometimes get embroidery or xstitch patterns from Ebay, Patternbee.com and the like. But, only patterns online.
I buy most my thread, needles etc all locally. I try to buy most my patterns locally too, but vintage ones that are no longer in print, I have to get online sometimes.
I mainly embroider or x stitch though if you can't tell. lol haha
So I also pick up patterns at the odd ball places too like garage sales, thrift shops, and Precious Moments (their store in Carthage Mo, carries nice patterns!).

Unfortunately (or my wallet would say, fortunately) we don't have a craft store here :(
I love walking through them, picking items i like etc.
When I visited the USA last year, we went to Michael's, JoAnne's etc. LOVED those!
Bought many many yarn and other smaller items, lol. Would have loved to buy much more, but you know those suitcases are so darned small, when you shop, lol, AND they get SO heavy too;)

I buy a lot from Oriental Trading Company - they have neat scrapbooking stuff pretty cheap. Fatquartershop.com is a favorite for quilt stuff, as is Keepsakequilting.com.
Usually I buy locally at our Michael's or at Joann's or our local quilt shop.
