I just bought a singer 500A. I think its called a Rocketeer. The straight stich works great, but I seem to be having trouble with the zig zag. It puckers my fabric and both the top and bottom threads pull in the same line of stiches. I know it has to do with tenson, but beyond that I am clueless.

Christa, do you have a manual for it? If it is puckering the fabric then your tension is to tight and needs turned down! YOu can also adjust the bobbin tension if it is to tight! Hope this helps.
