I am back to ask if anyone out there knows of a great Gnome sewing pattern. I have been on the net and not found what I was looking for - might need a vintage pattern. I hope to find one that has charater to it - not evil but not looking like a Wordolf Doll.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Grace,

I have the May 2007 Soft Dolls and Animals magazine. It has a pattern of a Troll named 'Shortie'. He sure is cute! He stands 81/2 inches and is needlesculpted. You can see what he looks like if you go to their website and check their back issues. He is the on the cover. If he is something you would be interested in, send me an email with your address and I will send the magazine right out to you. If not, I hope you find what you are looking for soon.
Take care,
Marcy

Vogue Dolls have wonderful patterns for a variety of dolls. I remember seeing a patterns for a gnome in one of the books. I only have one of them, but you could check you library for others.

Grace, Unfortunately none of the doll books I can get my hands on don't have anything suitable for a gnome. I'm trying to think of how to adjust a pattern for a friendly gnome. It is such a wonderful idea for a doll. I'll see what I can do...

Grace, I have a book on making cloth dolls and it has an elf pattern that might be able to be modified. I looked online too and didn't have much luck. I found some knitting patterns for them but no sewing patterns. If you want I can send you the pattern for the elf. Let me know.

I was looking on my sewing shelf yesterday and spotted my doll making books. I'll look through them and see if anything looks like what you want, I know exactly what you mean when you say a Waldorf doll. They are so sweet.
