I'm curious what other crochet fans are working on and the types of projects that you find yourself wanting to make. I'm always drawn to vintage style work and things that blow the stereotype of lumpy, bulky crochet away. I'm currently working my way through a book called "Vintage Crochet" and though much of it isn't my idea of vintage inspired, there are some fun patterns. I have the doggy sweater on my hook right now so I can practice the popcorn stitch.

I'm also a big fan of the beta website, Ravelry and I find many good projects there. I wish Alicia Paulson had more crochet patterns because I LOVE her work.

What about you? What's on your hook?

Just checked out this topic this morning...

Currently doing the Crochetalong on the Lion Brand website. It's 3 different blocks, 10 blocks each. So far, I have all the block 1's completed, but am having a real challenge with blocks 2 and 3. Apparently, someone gave some bad math on the pattern. I've tried adjusting my guage and everything else I can think of. I even tried knitting some of the blocks! (It's my afghan and there are no afghan police). I'm still trying to figure out what to do.

Anyway, I'm doing it in Homespun, Candy Apple red. It's for a wedding for a friend of ours who is Chinese, and red is a symbol of good luck in their culture. He and his intended are getting married in NYC on Thanksgiving day.

Happy Monday Happy Hookers!

Lisa, I love your latest hat, it is really striking.

Bonne, that skirt is going to be fabulous, the blue color just looks super.

I took a picture of my pincushion with the crocheted comb on her head, but now the camera cable has disappeared. I bet my daughter has it, but since it is so late I'll wait till tomorrow to ask for it.

Vintagegrl you have beautiful crochet pieces, I have never tried making dollies but have always love them. Maybe one day I will get brave and give it a go. Katmom, I can do one better, I am still working on a ripple afghan for my granddaughter who is now 5 and just started kindergarten. I guess it may just get finished for her room or dolls. That is if I ever finish it. I am guilty of having too many irons in the pot. I have difficulty in staying on the same project for very long. All of my children have moved out and I am setting up a craft room for myself. Now that I have all of this time I am having a difficult time in getting motivated. In joining MaryJane's Sisterhood and hearing everyone talk about their projects is helping me to move and get my room finished.

My cats wouldn't put up with that, yours look so sweet, some gnomes are grumpy, right? Many years ago I made a tiny Dracula cape for my son's cat and as soon as we put it on him he took off and just started going ballistic. My son, who was six at the time, turned to me and said, "I don't think he likes it". Once we located Milo, we removed the Dracula cape and put it on his teddy bear, who seemed quite pleased to be a vampire for Halloween.

they are pretty good about stufff like that--least 3 of them are. my younger cat wont keep his on too long. They will wear little bandanas around thier neck so they should tolerate a small capelet to go with their hats
