I was sitting here yesterday thinking of the new baby that we will be blessed with in a wee bit. I was thinking how nice it would be to have a homemade quilt. then I got thinking....what if my farmgal pals sent me a square that I could piece together to keep my baby warm.
I would love it if you gals could send me some kind of square 3 1/2 x3 1/2i would then get my neighbour to show me how to "piece" it together.
I would gladly send you something in return for your troubles...thanks:)

Hi Melanie,
Well I got your squares off in the mail today. I also sent you a booklet on hand quilting, it just goes over the basics but I thought you might like it. I personally just tie off baby quilts because they get so much abuse and are washed a million times. I have no idea how long it will take to get there. I included two blocks and they are oversized, but you can cut them to whatever size you want. Best wishes,
Teresa Sue

I will send you a square today as well. When I was prego all my griend decorated a square and then my aunt sewed it together and I got a beautiful "love quilt". Would you like a plain square or something created for your little farm boy?

go to your first post and click on the pencil to edit your post and place the 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 in place of the 2 inch as people may not read this far into the post to know you changed your mind on what size just at the bottom of your post put

update decided 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 is better thanks

take care

thank you so very much for the great response. I can't wait to start piecing the squares together. Instead of dolly Parton's song, "my coat of many colours" I can sing "my quilt of many colours" to the baby!!
oh, the size I've decided on is 3 1/2 x 3 1/2.

Oh My Gosh - sign me up - send me the address you wish the fabric to be sent to and I will send out immediatly. I love this - my sons are 24 and 21 but I still remember the first quilt I made for each of them. I will send all the blessing and heart felt hugs from the Funny Farm to you and your bundle.

New Life is such a wonder..mine these days have four feet but two feet is just as special.

Yes , please send me your address, i would love to send some squares as soon as you decide on a size. I think 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 would be a great size for a baby quilt, they are such fun with different squares from far flung places. You will have a great time making this, and it will be good to have a creative project while you are waiting for your little sweet potato to show up....
