For several years I have been wanting to find a treadle machine that I could afford that resembled my Great-Grandmothers. My mother owns the one that belonged to her but my mom the artist had torn appart and given it a new life as various things. I do own the drawers which I store seeds in and in the fall she is bringing me the other odds and ends of it for me to do whatever my creative heart feels.

Anyways I was able to purchase MY treadle this weekend! Before I found out anything about MaryJane Butter's and you girls on this forum I would have just let this baby sit as a beautiful piece of decoration in my home. But thanks to all of you I am inspired to learn how to actually use it. So with my manual in hand I hope to do all of you farmgirls, myself included proud. Here is to happy adventures in sewing!!

If you want to see pictures please feel free to visit my blog.

Christina, I am so happy for you!!! I hope you have a great time using it. I would love to some day get a treadle also. My mother-in-law has one so maybe I can talk her out of it some day. I could tell her all about keeping it in the family!!! Have fun!

Karin, there's always something of hubby's that can go out to the garage to make room. LOL

Congrats on the "new baby" Christina! You've got a "Red Eye". Class 66 bobbins are easy to find too.

Lucky girl. I want a treadle someday too, but I don't know where I could wedge it in this house!
