Posted - Mar 24 2009 : 11:06:02 AM Yes, waist or hips, that would be very helpful!
In sewing patterns, the sizes are much smaller than in store-bought clothing. For instance, if someone wore a 14-16 in "Target" clothes, that would translate to something like an 18-20 in a Butterick pattern (that's not exact but it gives you an idea). (Lordy don't I hate finding my size on a commercial pattern!!!)
So I was wondering what the MJF patterns were based on - "regular" sizes, or are they made to the same charts as commercial sewing patterns by McCall's, Vogue, Butterick, etc.
Here is a good link from eBay that explains the differences:

Posted - Mar 23 2009 : 10:13:27 PM Regarding the sizing on the patterns/sewn knickers, are they "sewing pattern" sizes or "store" sizes? Has anyone made them, who could give me some info about the fit, and about the waist construction, so that I will know if the pattern will fit me if I purchase it?
