They go through the waiting list on Ravelry pretty quickly.

Congrats on knitting! I've been crocheting and spinning for years but wanted to re-learn to knit so I could make socks (my grannie taught me in the mid-60's)

I start knitting Jan 07 and still haven't finished that first wash cloth .... but I've made a whole lot of socks!!

mrs morgen- just to whet your knitting whistle and keep you wonderfully motivated, go ahead and register for ravelry- www.ravelry.com Add your name to the waiting list- it's worth it. Lots of forums, help, ideas and patterns.

Good luck with your knitting! I love mine...

Congratulations! Don't you love that feeling of completion and accomplishment. I love to knit washclothes, it is mindless and I sit while watching TV with DH after the kids have gone to bed and I knit. Washclothes are easy and forgiving and useful....not to mention cheap to knit.
