Hi!

I am looking for people who would like to exchange, one on one with
me, a 6" block (6-1/2" unfinished size), made from 100% cotton fabric
in the colors of red, white and blue.

The block can be a pattern of your choice, but I would like to get a
good variety of blocks. (I already have three Churn Dashes.) If you
could find a block pattern whose name might include the name of your
state, or fabric with a pattern that has something to do with your
state, that would be perfect. (No iron on applique, please.)

I would like the blocks to be made only from fabrics of red, white
and blues. The fabric can be patterned or solid, but I would like the
white to be a pure white shade and not a tan or unbleached muslin
shade.

Please sign, date and put your town and state on the front of the
block with permanent fabric pen.

In exchange, I will make you a 6" block or send three (3) different 6-
1/2" squares of fabric from my fabric stash.

I want to mention that I work full time, so if it takes a day or two to respond to your email, that's why. Thank you so much for considering to represent your state in my quilt. I look forward to exchanging with you.

Rachel

P.S.:
When my 15 year old daughter got home from school today, I was telling her about my 50 States Quilt. She asked who I was giving the quilt to, her or my son. Hmmmmm....great question. SOOOOO....I'm going to do TWO 50 State Quilts; one for each of my children. I will need two blocks from each state, and I would like to try to have two different people from each state, if possible. If not; I might be back in touch with you in the future, if that's okay.

Also, a wonderful suggestion was given to me (thanks Joanne); to list the states as I receive them. I will also include the number I have received from each state, since I will now need two from each state.

Here are the states who are represented so far:

California (1)
Oregon (1)
Pennsylvania (1)

That's it. So as you can see, I have quite a ways to go.
Thank you again,
Rachel

Hi!
I've been asked to do another state up-date. Remember that I need two from each state. Here is what I have so far:

California (1)
Colorado (2)
North Dakota (2)
Ohio (1)
Oregon (2)
Pennsylvania (1)
Tennessee (1)
Washington (2)
Wisconson (1)

Please remember that the finished block needs to be 6" square and made only from the colors red, white and blue. I would like everyone to sign, date and put your town/state on the block in permanent fabric ink. I have had some beautiful blocks, but a few were not 6" and made from other color schemes.

In exchange, I will make you a 6" block or send 3 6" fabric squares.

Thank you again,
Rachel

Hi Annie!
I haven't received your email yet. What state do you live in? If I don't have your state, I'd love to swap. Let me know, Rachel

Would it help to try to have some swappers if I mentioned that I have a smoke free home? I've noticed other people have put that on their postings, and I neglected to mention that. I also will be happy to make you a block with colors you choose, if you'd prefer a block over the fabric squares. It's doesn't have to be my theme or colors. (Maybe I'll get some takers now...pretty please???) Thank you again!!! Rachel
