I want to learn how to do the tatting as shown in Mary Jane's Idea book..but...where does one find the needles to do this?
It is my goal to teach myself a few things like this..this year.Along with crocheting.
Does anyone have a source for the tatting needles?
Thanks in advance.
My apologies if this question was posted/answered before.

I was looking for tatting needles too, also inspired by MaryJane's book and I read somewhere that you could blunt the end of big needles, I'll have to look around. We have no Hobby Lobby in maine. As far as I know, which don't mean much...Karin

thank you everyone..after I posted this Naomi said to me.."mom..just use a beading needle..duh..and mom..hobby lobby has them..duh!"..gotta love a kid that makes ya feel sooo smart..ha.
----------
I actually looked at an online photo of the directions..and it looks like it is the same type of concept as how we used to cover clothes hangers with yarn..does anyone remember that? Anyhow..I think it will be easier to learn than crochet even. We'll see.

thanks so much everyone!

Email Sunshine.(or peek at her blog) Besides being the "Yo-YO Queen Extraordinaire", her other title of "The Terrible (formidable;causing awe) Tatter", is well deserved.

OK, I thought it was a very tiny crochet hook.

Tina- Do you have a Hobby Lobby nearby? That's where I found mine. It's a set of different sizes and was about $10.

Hi Tina!

Use the 6-8 inch long blunt beading needles from any craft store. That is what I have and it works perfectly.
