Posted - Apr 05 2008 : 8:55:38 PM Hubby took me to the flea market today and we stumbled upon a 1949 15-91 Singer Sewing Machine!! There's no power cord, but the guy who sold me it said to come back next weekend because he's certain that he has it in with his other stuff!
The best part - it works and I only paid $10.00 for it!!!!!
The machine is in excellent shape and all of the gold designs are still on it! I've been doing some research on it and it was made March 3, 1949. I am so excited about it! She's beautiful. I'll post pics on my blog in a day or so!

Posted - Apr 07 2008 : 5:20:38 PM What is the difference between the 15-91 and a Featherweight? I think my model is around the 1952 vintage and if yours runs perfectly you made a real bargain. Somehow or other these machines seem to run forever. Mine was $450 and came with all the attachments and the wooden, leatherette covered box. I love it. |

Posted - Apr 07 2008 : 5:14:21 PM Tammy - I love my 15-91. It is the only machine I use. I found mine at a garage sale and my husband refinished the cabinet for me. I bet you will love using yours too.
Remember, you are unique-- just like everyone else. |

Posted - Apr 06 2008 : 1:59:10 PM Tammy, what a nice find. I use my old Singer exclusively now. I still haven't touched the treadle I got way back when. I need to get to that one of these days. 10.00 is such a great price too!
