Does any one know where I can find patterns or ideas for viking age embroidery designs? I have read a lot about the ornate embroidery believed to be found on viking women's clothing, but I cannot seem to find any examples. looking for your help...please!

yes this is going to be fun i saw vikinganswerlady. at first i was worried about keeping everything period correct, dress underdress head gear, embroidery, shoes, etc, but now i have decided to just combine my favorites from every time period.

Did you see this site? I believe the women carried their sewing tools right on them, and keys as well. http://www.cdli.ca/CITE/v_dress.htm

Plus there's the Viking Answer Lady http://www.vikinganswerlady.com/clothing.shtml

You're going to have fun! I made Red into a Berserker once~well...a clothed Berserker.

yes i am meeting elizabeth at the asheville one..so i picked out a 10c underdress and an apron dress to go over it. I am trying to find a fun wool type material to make the apron dress out of. I need to go sweet talk tribalcime(Lisa) into helping me make the jewelry part that goes across the front and I am hunting around for 2 silver brooches for the straps. And as usual is mine goes well then I will make em for all the chilluns. :)
