You gals are so great! I dont' really have anyone else who understands the apron thing, or the kids at the fair and what a big deal it was to them and me both! It is so nice to have friends who understand and "get it". THAT is what is important in life for sure!! Thanks.

Jenny, The aprons reminded me of my mom, aunt and grandmother. I have seen them in ones just like yours. Thanks for the pictures.
The children are so pleased with their ribbons and I thought of you as I looked at them and how much love it took for Mom to teach and help them with their projects....Wonderful job.

Nichol..it is really cute on about a size 12 to 14 or so. Could work on someone smaller too..but I don't know about bigger.
I think I would love your mom and grandma..haha

You're so cute Jenny! You sound just like my mom! She has a fabric obsession too. My grandmother was just visiting and she too loves fabric. My mom said my grandma MADE her go to the fabric store. Yeah Right!!!! I love the turquoise apron. What size is it? I might just be interested! |

I just love that diner apron too..really cute and fun to make...I gave the red one to my neice when she was out here visiting from Calif. I will probably sell the light turquiose print one in the picture. (not my color, but I sure couldn't resist that fabric) I have a couple more of the diner one cut out since they are just so cute. I am next making myself a red gingham 1941 apron though...I need a new red gingham apron (NEED!) Next week I am going up to "the city" and will have to stop and replenish my apron fabric. It will be so hard to "make myself" go to the fabric store...haha.

Darling! You did good! the '50's apron is similar to a red gingham on I bought at a thirft store. My favorite so far is the diner apron.

Thanks Suzy..the 1941 aprons are a calico cat pattern...love their stuff...check out their wedsite! www.thecalicocat.com and then 1950 and diner aprons are from a McCalls pattern that is available right now. I will have to find the number for ya..but it is in the big pattern books. The 1941 pattern is my favorite to sew and to wear. Havn't found one I like better yet. For smaller gals there is a 1940 apron...size 10-12 I think they said...the 1941 is for L, XL and 2XL...they are generous sizes though! I would think I would wear an XL but an L was right for me.
