Posted - Mar 11 2008 : 07:42:59 AM I thought i would ask and see if you have a favor craft fair item? Do you specially look for an item, or buy the same year after year?
My favorite edible is kettle corn. I love to go to craft fair/bazaars. And i always look for the lady that makes fantastic fudge.

Posted - Mar 11 2008 : 10:39:45 PM Angie, I just wondered if you get around to making the stuff. We all do the same things. Some make items and others don't. I hope you have as good as time as I do. I too make items. I was wondering people interests. I sell in craft fairs but i don't sell anything in bulk. I do sell alot of baby quilts, but I never multi produce the same. I buy christmas gifts and sometimes yard ornaments.

Posted - Mar 11 2008 : 9:35:37 PM Debi, I buy things like handmade soap, candles, and unusual jewelry. I will only buy GREAT quality, which I sadly don't see much of at the average craft show. I will make a special trip to attend a quality show that specializes in something I love, like primitives or clothing.
I buy a lot of supplies at quilt markets, fiber faires and things like that. I dearly love a good farmers market in the warmer months. I typically buy fruit, flowers, soap and bread each week there.

Posted - Mar 11 2008 : 9:05:33 PM Debi, Sometimes I do make the things I see and don't buy. But, then, sometimes I have really good intentions to make it and forget! If I am wandering in an attempt to gather ideas, yes I admit it! i will take notes. Then, so long as I don't lose the notes, I make some of the items.
It is a blessing and a curse to be one of those people who dabble in to many different art forms. A blessing because I don't get bored with one medium. A curse because it would just be easier to buy the stuff from someone else rather than having to organize and store all the supplies for all the things I like to do!
Disclaimer--- I don't steal ideas to make to sell at craft shows! It's usually just to give as a gift and I rarely make more than one of any given item. I am not a bulk producer.

Posted - Mar 11 2008 : 2:45:28 PM the last couple of craft sales that I have gone to..I generally seek out one booth in particular if I have a feeling that the gal will be in town..and that is..the booth of a little oriental lady that I met several years ago ..she travels around to Georgia and Florida selling handcrafted clay flowers that look like real flowers..they are amazing! So..I look for the very unique and different.

Posted - Mar 11 2008 : 11:56:35 AM I am really bad when it comes to craft fairs. I am usually one who just looks because the little voice inside my head always chants "I could make that for cheaper".... =)
But---- when I do buy stuff... I am likely to buy handmade soaps for me or unusual gifts for my mother in law. My girls like to buy purses and jewelry.
