Posted - Mar 02 2008 : 2:27:43 PM I took out my sewing machine for the first time in 10 years maybe a bit more. The last time it was out my 12 yr. old DD decide that one of class of sewing entitled her to use my machine. Had it retuned twice in one month and packed it away. When my children were little that machine sewed all 5 of them clothes beside a large amount of my wardrobe too. Since my children have grown and own there own, I have finally have time to pursue some crafting and take out my dear friend. Even though she's an old Bernina 930 she purred like a kitten. The sound of her motor was engulfing. I'm rehooked. I made a small but cute Waldorf style teething doll out of my inventory, all my good and thrifty finds I have carried around for 3 moves. Oh how good it feels to touch fabric and restructure old items into new.

Posted - Mar 02 2008 : 7:38:29 PM That's awesome. Sometimes it's easy to forget things that we used to love. I'm not sure why that is, it just is for me. It feels so primal to create doesn't it? So natural. Well, I'm glad you found those lost loves...be engulfed...and enjoy it. :-)
