Posted - Feb 27 2008 : 8:34:08 PM I had a bunch of left over yo-yo's so I followed Sunshines tutorial and made a yoyo clown and thought you all might enjoy a look at it. So since I don't have my own little blogspot I'm posting a picture of it here.
and here's a closeup of the face. The collar should have been larger, but I'll do that on the next one.

Posted - Feb 28 2008 : 7:54:26 PM Thank you all for your kind and encouraging comments. He was alot of fun to make. A lampshade, hmm? I haven't seen a yo-yp lampshade tutorial out there, but then I haven't googled that. I'm working on another clown - he'll have a split hat like a "jester" or a "joker". He does feel good to hug, and that's why I'll be giving it to my grandaughter as her 1st birthday gift, along with a clown music box I found at the thrift store ---> a clown popped out of a drum, and the clown turns as the music (April Love) plays - too cute. And for all you yo-yo lovers, Sunshine has a post on a really pretty yo-yo quilt she made, hope you've seen it. |

Aren't yoyo's addicting? you can create "objects d' art" or use them to decorate pillows, clothing, even house slippers! I am planning an making a tote next, but first I need to get some of my other crafting/sewing projects done before I start yet an other one...oh who am I kidding, I am always starting new projects even thou I have a sewing table full of unfinished ones! Silly me!(& luvin it!)

Posted - Feb 28 2008 : 04:02:39 AM How cute! Great job! The first time I learned how to make yoyos it was to make a clown doll like that. That was a loooong time ago...it's a very old antique type of toy. Yours is adorable!

Posted - Feb 27 2008 : 10:36:05 PM I would have never thought to use yo-yos to make a doll like that. It is gorgeous! You did a beautiful job on him. I bet he feels really good to hug, too.
