Posted - Feb 17 2008 : 09:58:17 AM I am doing it!! I am quilting.. Well I have been quilting for the last 2 weeks but that is just handsewing 2 inch squares together- those are done and pressed- now I need to handsew the strips together. but I am machine stitching a mini quilt this morning.. I am following a pattern! Well my squares are a bit bigger because I already had 4 inch sq's cut out from a previous 9 patch sq swap I did last year. I had enough of one of the squares fabric for the back and the binding.. and just found a remnant of a lovely green a few weeks back that will tie it all in perfectly I think So I am working on a quilt and I am enjoying myself.. hope you are having a good day so far!

Posted - Feb 17 2008 : 2:08:58 PM so my first square is sewn together. I definitely see my mistakes- it is cute but the corners are not matching.. the squares I cut were supposed to be 1.5 inch squares but I found those much smaller than my hour glass squares- so I measured 1 of the hour glass squares and found that they were 2 inches. So I cut all the other squares 2 inches. apparently only 1 of the hourglass squares are 2 inches- the rest are about 2.5 inches :-) Oh well. It will still be cute and it will be a reference point for how I am progressing in my quilting as I continue to quilt.

Posted - Feb 17 2008 : 11:40:45 AM Thank you Linda. I just finished 16 1.5 inch hourglass squares.. yay! just have to press the seams then trim down my other squares- then I can start assembling- these were the most time consuming part. over all soooo easy.. don't know why I didn't try it before.
