I got this from freecycle a couple of weeks ago. I was told it worked- just needs a good oiling. Well I can't find any info on it. And I could never figure out how to wind a bobbin on it. It is model 605..
I just love the machine though.. the cabinet is uky.. but I could paint it..

Blessings, Debra

Debra,
I have a box of cams for a Kenmore machine...wouldn't it be wonderful if they happen to fit your machine. When I come across wherever I stashed them, we can find out. My kids were here yesterday and my son said he's going to start me a website...RonnaHasIt.com. They say I have way too much 'stuff' and they're right. Time for a huge yard/eBay/farmgirl sale this late spring or early summer.

when money is better I plan on taking in all of my machines- I have the vintage machine, a older necchi that the bobbin winder is broken- and it could use a good tune up and 2 sergers- a babylock and a white. My daughter will get one of the sergers. I have a Bernina on my vision board when I get it then Eimilee will get the Necchi which is a good workhorse machine.

Is there a sewing machine repair shop in your area. I would take it in for a "tune-up" before doing too much with it. In my experience, that only costs about $30 and is well worth it. OTH, I bought a used Bernina at a yardsale and it apeared to be in perfect, well cared for condition and I did nothing but clean and oil it when I brought it home 2 years ago...it's been running great for me ever since.

What we write today slipped into our souls some other day when we were alone and doing nothing.

Here is a site that you can purchase either a hardcopy or purchase one to download and print yourself:

http://www.sewconsult.com/kenmore_158_source_manuals.htm

The 650 is in the bottom line of model numbers.

Thank you. All the sites I found didn't have a 605. thank you for the compliment on my blog as well.

Debra, there is a site online where you can order user manuals for old machines. I think I remember seeing the Kenmore 605 model #. If I can find the site I will send you the addy.

Love your blog! Thanks for sharing.
