I ordered a rather lage package of baskets from a company.
I thought they were hot iron tranfers like the Marta ones
These are different baskets with flowers to embroidery.
But,you have to transfer them onto your fabric.
Question:
What are yalls favorite way to transfer onto cloth?
I went to our quilt shop and the owner said that one way was to use a light box ( I have one) and put the pattern down first and then some muslin fabric over the pattern and use a pencil to transfer the pattern.
I have used the pencils too.
Was wondering you all's favorite way.
I wished these were like Aunt Martha's
They are really cute. but a bit expensive
I am thinking on a quilt. Pinkroses

I like to use a light box too. Of course a window works great-just that I typically work at night...
Oh, a thrify version of a light box is a clear tote, turned upside down, with a strong flashlight underneath!

Anyone have a trick for transferring patterns to dark cloth of heavy wool? Thanks!

If I don't want the marks to show and to eventually wash away, I use a light source and a number 2 pencil. Most of the time I tape my patterns and fabric to a window and trace them off on a sunny day. My neighbors already think I'm crazy.

If I know I'm going to be covering the markings with my stitches I use an extra-fine point black sharpie. The down side to the sharpie is that it doesn't wash out and if you make a mistake in your markings, it is permanent. I've tried the expensive quilting markers and have had them fade out of the fabric before I was finished with my project.

Just my two pennies worth....

I like the Iron on ones. Or just free hand. But most of the time I use Iron ons. They have so so many to choose from.
