With my fibro being so ugly the last couple of days, I haven't done much but sit around. My wonderful hubby took it upon himself last night to go over to WalMart and get me a learning to knit kit (with camo yarn I might add). Anyway, I have made it through 10 rows already. There are 2 little weird spots but otherwise it looks great! Now, if I could just figured out that purl stuff

I got the kit "I taught myself to knit". It is a neat little book with all of the supplies that you need. I am doing quite well if I do say so myself!

Also try the Lion Brand knitting site - the pictures there are large and easy to see what they are doing:

Good luck - fun to learn something new.

I found dishcloths was the neatest thing to do when I started. I learn tension, knit and purl. Have fun!

You bet! Most of what I knit is in garter stitch. Get you some novelty yarns, and make the yarn do the work of an interesting texture.

Good for you! I've been knitting for about five years now, and it's one of the best things I can do to work my arthritic hands when they're hurting. If you want good knitting eyecandy, go to www.knitty.com and look at all the free patterns... www.magknits.com is another good one. Have fun and try whatever your heart wishes- there are only two stitches in knitting- knit and purl, once you master those, you can make whatever you want!

Yay for you, Denise!! I taught myself a few years ago and I am still on scarves and dishcloths. I can't help it. I just love making them! We have to get together for a knitting day soon.

You'll get it! It's so much fun when you get going, believe me!!! I just kept ripping it out, casting on and starting over to make myself get the hand of it!

Enjoy youself!
