Posted - Nov 27 2007 : 3:37:54 PM I am making my Mother-in-law a embroied lap quilt for Christmas I got this panel at a quilt shop in our area It has 12 blocks of different flowers, You could paint, do red work or what ever I did hand embroidery. I have finshed the flower blocks took almost a month. I like to do detailed embelshments when I do things like this. I tired to do each flower in their natural color. I am hand quilting this. I backed it with a sorta baby blue cotton material that has little white stars in it I am almost on row 3 of the flower blocks. I intend to put prairie square points all around to look more like a quilt I was going to put the warm and natural all cotton batting in between; but, that is so hard to hand quilt through I am hand quilting it without a hoop or frame I tired with a hoop and I didn't care for it I love to hand quilt I hope to get it finished before Christmas The panel was meant to be a wall- hanging ; but I turned it into a lap quilt I hope she likes it. It will take a few more weeks to finsh the hand quilting part. Pinkroses |

When I am doing lap size or smaller quilts I like to do them on my lap without a hoop too. Bigger ones I use my frame for. Be sure to post a picture Sheila..we would love to see it!!
