Not knowing what to do for family gifts where I needed something nice but inexpensive I have been making up simple table topper quilts. I had quite a collection of Christmas fabrics and cut 5" squares and made up these quilts and hand quilted them while watching TV..stuff like that. I love the hand quilting part and these were smallish and quick. I am doing a couple more throw size for my sister and brother's families. I am doing a plaid flannel patchwork one for my bachelor uncle in throw size too. Some will be tied instead of quilted if I run short of time (I am sure I will)
Anyway...just an idea for those of you looking for a simple project for a gift. Everyone likes to get a quilt..big or small..and it can be simple.
This is the throw size one before I added the binding. I loved these fabrics! Oops..would have been better if I had rotated the picture..but you get the idea I guess.

Jenny, I love your sense of color. Love that color of Christmas green with the red. I am betting these will be treasured gifts.

I was fortunate to have a quiling friend machine quilt the two laptops I completed for my kids for Christmas this year. I can't wait to give them something handmade to keep them warm udring cold Jan nights and weekends.

Thanks for the picturre. i enjoy seeing all your work.

I really don't watch MUCH tv..but if I do, you can bet there is stitching on my lap..haha.
Last night we watched a movie on DVD and I worked on the embroidery on our Christmas tablecloth.

Jenny - with all you do, you still watch TV? When, in the middle of the night, because we all know you never sleep! Very pretty!

I do feel a little dizzy, but that sure is pretty and such a good idea, I bet everyone you give one to will love them. So glad your Son can stay out of the service over the holidays, what a good feeling that is. I bet you are glad to be back home, everyone must have really missed you, even Mona! She must have been really concerned as to your where abouts.

I have been a part of this forum for 2 1/2 years and I am still amazed at all you can do !!!! I don't know if YOU know how talented you are, plus all the housekeeping, child rearing, taking care of hubby and on and on. You are a blessing.
